EPA · Clean Air Act stationary sources (ICIS-AIR)

Air pollution sources — license

ICIS-AIR is the register of stationary sources of air pollution that the United States Environmental Protection Agency keeps under the Clean Air Act. Each record names an operator, an address and county, the programs that apply, and the compliance history. What is sold is the register itself: the full set of records for a scope, delivered as files and through an interface, refreshed for the term, licensed for use inside your own work.

Buyers are environmental lawyers, air quality consultants, public health researchers, university libraries, state and local agencies, and newsrooms that need the whole register for a scope rather than single lookups.

Questions

What arrives when I license a scope?
Files holding every record for the scope, plus access through an interface that answers the same register by source, county and state. The set is refreshed for the length of the term, and you may use it inside your own work.
How often is the set refreshed?
The register is refreshed on a schedule set by the term you choose, so the files you hold follow changes at the agency as they are published. The page states the refresh interval for each scope.
What may I do with the records?
Use them inside your own institution's work: analysis, research, reporting, advising clients, and internal systems. The state and national scopes cover internal use. Redistribution outside your institution is a separate national license, and the research engagement is quoted per piece of work.
What does the research engagement cover?
A defined piece of work quoted per piece, scoped with you before it starts. It draws on the register for the counties, states or sources you name, and the result is delivered to your institution under the license terms agreed for that engagement.

How the figures are built

Every figure is the one its source document printed, shown with the file it came from. The three shares that are divided and the positions that are ranked are named on one page. Nothing is estimated. How each figure is defined.
